How to make money online.
When I read about making money on most sites it always seems a bit cheesy or some type of link hacking scheme that is too good to be true.
However, there are great individuals who do it right. In the video below I will mention who some of them are and give you my top 10 ways to make money online in an authentic, inspiring, educational and fun way.
A way that fills you up not with the amount of money in your bank account (because it can be A LOT if you do it right) but with the emails you get from customers about how you changed their life or when you meet an online client in person with tears rolling down his face expressing how his dreams were achieved because of YOU!
It's a powerful feeling and I want you to experience it.
But it requires knowing how to do it in the right way so that it serves your vision and supports others.
Here are my top 10 ways to make money online honestly:
1. Teaching and Training
This is my number one method and I have been doing it for the past 5 years. This is something almost every major university is doing (teaching online) thanks to the huge success the University of Phoenix has had in setting the tone for online education. It's now easier than ever for companies and entrepreneurs to launch online schools, and my good friend Marie Forleo is a prime example with her huge success, B-School.
2. Offering the Service
Providing a service can be the easiest way to get started because you don't need any investment to get it up and running. My podcast editor, Ian Robinson, helps podcasters edit their shows to increase production value. There are many different ways to provide service, and it's just a matter of realizing where your talent lies and what solutions you can provide to others.
3. Creating and selling products
If you have expertise in ANYTHING, you can package it into a book, course, software, audio program, DVD, and so on. The best way to get the word out and sell these products is through webinars.
4. Membership Sites and Continuity Programs
Another champion I have a lot of respect for in this arena is Ramit Sethi. He has an amazing continuity program (Ramit’s Brain Trust) and provides useful and specific information to his passionate community every month. The community thrives on his wise direction and pays him monthly to continue to have access to the community and resources. The beauty of this model is that you sell something once and get paid for it every month.
5. Affiliate marketing
Nick Reese has done an incredible job building websites, developing excellent searchable content, and selling other people's products on his site. He earns a commission on every sale or lead he sends to the company. So he never had to create his own product to build his business (he's since branched out into other areas, which you can check out on his new website). Pat Flynn does an amazing job at this as well and actually shows how much he generates monthly from his affiliates.
6. Website creation and advertising sales
Derek Halpern is a BEAST in this one. The legend behind SocialTriggers started a celebrity gossip site years ago and had millions of monthly visitors, which he used to sell advertising on the site. Another example is Tina Su of ThinkSimpleNow.com who does an amazing job with this while also sharing inspirational content for personal development.
7. Selling Sponsorships for Branded Content
John Lee Dumas, generates over $50,000 a month in sales sponsorships on his podcast and writes about how he does it here. This can be done through a podcast, creating a dedicated website or even a video show. Create branded content around your passion and find sponsors to engage your audience.
8. Events
Creating and promoting events, whether online or offline, can also be very profitable. Michael Stelzner hosts online summits and in-person events with thousands of attendees, starting with a simple blog a few years ago.
9. Masterminds and coaching
Jonathan Fields is the inspirational change maker of the Integrity Podcast Network. He runs the Good Life Project and holds year-round coaching and retreats in exotic locations that are sold at high ticket prices. This can be done online or offline as Jonathan has mastered the art of doing both.
10. Be creative
Jason Sadler (now known as Jason SurfrApp) is a creative entrepreneur. He used his online platform to monetize corporate t-shirts with Iwearyourshirt.com. He now sells his last name for nearly $50,000 a year, sells sponsor pages in his new book, and continues to promote what you can earn with creativity.
